Anita Nederlof has been a journalist and writer since the early 1980s. She has written for magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, The Guardian, and Der Spiegel. Anita Nederlof (born March 5, 1944) is a Dutch sculptor. She has been living and working in London since the late 1970s. Nederlof was born in The Hague, Netherlands. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rotterdam, she moved to London in the late 1970s. She is known for her sculptures of human and animal figures carved from bronze or marble. Her work has been exhibited around the world, including at the Venice Biennale, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In 2002 she received an Honorary Doctorate from Anglia Ruskin University.

Anita Nederlof was born in The Hague, the Netherlands, in 1952. She studied sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague where she was taught by two of the most influential sculptors of the time, Han van Meegeren and Adriaan Drebbel.
Nederlof’s early works were expressionist and figurative, but she soon abandoned this medium in favour of a more abstract approach. Her early sculptures are characterised by their use of angular shapes and sharp edges, which gives them an air of aggression.
Nederlof’s later sculptures are much more subtle, almost lulling the viewer into a state of tranquillity. They are often made from materials that seem fragile but are actually quite strong, such as glass or metal.
Nederlof’s work has been exhibited all over the world, including in exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the Tate Gallery in London.
